In this project, the multipath properties of a sphere were investigated, by collecting actual data, as well as in a MATLAB simulation. Large errors in the position fix (compared to the position fix without the sphere) were recorded when the sphere was present during the data collection. There seemed to be a discrepency between the data collection and the simulation since the errors predicted by the simulation were not as large.
Be that as it may, this experiment showed that multipath, if not properly compensated for, is a large source of error for code-based position fixes (at least when short-term high accuracy solutions are required).
