About

Before joining The University of Texas at Austin faculty in August of 2014, John Foster was a faculty member at UTSA and prior to that was a senior member of the technical staff at Sandia National Laboratories, where he worked for seven years.

His research interests are in experimental and computational geomechanics and multi-scale modeling with applications to well completions, lost circulation, hydraulic fracturing and anomalous flow in porous media. Additionally, he has an interest in fundamental theoretical advancement of the peridynamic theory of solid mechanics.
