Aerospace Engineering Building (ASE)
Home to the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics
Located at the corner of Wichita and 27th Streets, the 86,000-square-foot Aerospace Engineering Building opened in 2002 and underwent a comprehensive renovation in 2019. The facility features updated and expanded research laboratories, including a state-of-the-art space object visualization lab, enhanced autonomous UAV and human-centered robotics labs, and collaborative spaces that foster interdisciplinary research and learning.
The main entrance houses the McKnight Student Center, home to study and collaboration spaces, a flight simulator, a computer lab, and a student conference room. Modernized undergraduate design and teaching laboratories further enhance hands-on learning opportunities, providing students with the experiential education that is central to the department’s mission.
