Puneet Singh joined the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at The University of Texas at Austin as an assistant professor in Spring 2026. He received a bachelors and master’s in aerospace engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in 2013, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in aerospace engineering specializing in rotorcraft aeromechanics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 2017 and 2020, respectively. He has worked in critical engineering roles related to aircraft flight dynamics, loads, controls, simulation and design at eVTOL companies such as Overair and Archer Aviation.
Singh’s main research interests include computational aeromechanics, aero-servo-elasticity, aircraft design, multi-disciplinary design optimization, vortex particle methods for unsteady aerodynamics, fast algorithms for particle simulations, frequency domain methods for system identification, flying and handling qualities of novel aircraft configurations, and robust fly-by-wire control of over-actuated aircraft.
