Professor and ASE/EM Chairman, Dr. Robert H. Bishop, has been appointed by President William Powers to serve as the Associate Director of the Texas Space Grant Consortium representing the University of Texas at Austin. In this capacity he will work with Dr. Wallace Fowler, director of the consortium, and his staff. This appointment also places Bishop on the consortium’s Board of Directors.
President Powers writes, “The consortium’s focus on enhancing the Texas high technology workforce, especially in aerospace related areas, is an excellent match to your interests and activities.”
Dr. Bishop holds the Joe. J. King Professorship in Engineering and has served on the Cockrell School of Engineering faculty since 1990. He specializes in guidance, navigation and control of aerospace vehicles. He has served as the Chairman of the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics since fall of 2003.
