Professor Stelios Kyriakides has been selected to receive the Warner T. Koiter Medal from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. The medal was established in 1996 and recognizes “distinguished contributions to the field of solid mechanics with special emphasis on the effective blending of theoretical and applied elements of the discipline, and on a high degree of leadership in the international solid mechanics community.”
The award will be presented to Professor Kyriakides at the ASME 2009 International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition (IMECE) this November in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
