Rui Huang, ASE/EM Assistant Professor, was recently awarded a grant of $400,150 by the National Science Foundation for his CAREER (Faculty Early Career Development Program) project entitled, “CAREER: Research Education on Evolving Surface Patterns in Thin Films”.
The Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Program is a Foundation-wide activity that offers the National Science Foundation's most prestigious awards in support of the early career-development activities of those teacher-scholars who most effectively integrate research and education within the context of the mission of their organization.
Dr. Huang’s research interests include evolving material structures of small feature sizes, mechanics in micro- and nanofabrication, mechanics and materials in microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), and computational methods. He joined the Cockrell School of Engineering in Fall 2002. Dr. Huang is associated with the Research Center for Mechanics of Solids, Structures, and Materials.
