Sarah Kitten was selected as one of six recipients of the Cockrell School of Engineering’s Staff Excellence Award for 2009-10. The Staff Excellence Awards honor selected non-teaching personnel who have distinguished themselves and who have contributed significantly to the effectiveness of the teaching, advising, counseling, and research efforts of the Cockrell School.
Sarah has been working at UT Austin for 10 years. Before coming to Aerospace Engineering she worked in the College of Liberal Arts in their College Advising Office as an Academic Advisor I and II. She joined ASE/EM in June 2006 as an Academic Advisor II and is now an Academic Advising Coordinator. Her current duties are to manage the undergraduate advising and all administrative aspects of the undergraduate office for our department. She supervises two part-time advisors. She received her BA in Spanish from UT Austin in 2002 and her Masters in Educational Administration also from UT Austin in 2005.
Her leadership and enthusiasm have made a tremendous impact on our students and they way our undergraduate advising and administrative duties in the undergraduate office are conducted.
